Abstract：

In this talk, we first give an overview of energy harvesting wireless communications, especially from the signals/systems perspective. Then, we present our recent work: i) we propose a novel receiver architecture incorporating an interplay between the information receiver and the energy harvester to enhance the performance of a practical simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) receiver, and ii) based on this architecture, we propose a new relay protocol termed energy-assisted decode-and-forward (EDF), which is an enhanced DF relay protocol for specifically SWIPT networks.
