Abstract:
In multiple-access communication systems, many users share a common multiple access adder channel, where the signals from different users are superimposed to cause mutual interference. At the receiver side, the superimposed signals must be separated, even in the presence of noise.
In this talk, the signature coding problem for the multiple-access adder channel is considered, which is equivalent to the coin-weighting problem and the combinatorial detection problem. The bounds and some constructions for signature codes will be discussed. Finally, an application of the signature code for the random multiple access channel will be given.
Bio:
Shan Lu received B. S. and M. S. degrees in telecommunications engineering from Xidian University, Xi'an, China, in 2007 and 2010 and Ph. D. degree in information and computer science from Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan, in 2014. From 2014 to 2016, she was a research assistant in Doshisha University. Currently, she is an assistant professor in Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, Gifu University, Japan. Her research interests are in the areas of multi-user coding, coding for nonvolatile memories, and communications theory.
