Topic :

Learning-based MIMO Detector: Challenge and Opportunity

Abstract :

Wireless communication has evolved from the fifth to the sixth generation, which is expected to improve the spectrum efficiency further. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques are greatly beneficial for the increase of the capacity of wireless systems. Therefore, efficient signal detectors for MIMO systems are essential in modern communication. The study of MIMO detectors has over half of the century. However, so far, balancing the performance and complexity is still a problem. Recently, AI seems to open another opportunity for the design of MIMO detectors. In this talk, I will review the recent progress of learning-based MIMO detectors. In particular, I would like to point out the limitations in the current results, the potential directions, and our contemporary designs.
