Abstract:
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relay communications are viewed as one of the most promising techniques to improve the reliability and coverage of wireless systems. Recently, the optimization of amplify-and-forward MIMO relay networks has gained much attention. In this talk, we provide an overview of our results obtained in this area, with a focus on efficient signal processing algorithms for the design of transceiver and relay precoding matrices. Different MIMO relay network configurations including multihop one-way relays, two-way relays, and multiuser relay networks are considered.
Speaker’s Bio:
Yue Rong received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Darmstadt University of Technology, Darmstadt, Germany, in 2005. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California, Riverside, from 2006 to 2007. Since December 2007, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Curtin University, Australia, where he is currently an Associate Professor.
His current research interests include signal processing for communications, wireless communication, underwater acoustic communication, applications of linear algebra and optimization methods, and statistical and array signal processing. He has co-authored over 130 referred journal and conference papers.
