Abstract :
Massive MIMO systems are equipped with numerous antenna elements at the base station; therefore, a successful deployment of such systems relies heavily on the availability of low-cost radio transceivers. These transceivers exhibit several hardware imperfections; given such coarse components, all communication theories and signal processing techniques must be re-conceptualized or redesigned.

In this talk, I will focus on the architecture of receivers for massive MIMO systems, especially issues with low-cost transceivers. I will begin with a review of literature on promising research directions and existing challenges. Then, I will discuss current research frontiers by presenting effective message passing algorithms. Finally, I will highlight the open issues and research directions to this topic.
