Requirements for English Proficiency

Each student must achieve one of the following requirements for English proficiency before applying for the Ph.D. degree examination:
I. TOEFL MyBestTM Scores iBT: 79 or ITP: 550 (Computer-based TOEFL: 213 or Paper-based TOEFL: 550);
II. IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5;
III. GEPT at the High-Intermediate level or above;
IV. A bachelor’s degree or above at an English speaking country.
(Note. Philippine, Australia, and New Zealand are included as English-speaking country, while India is not included. English-speaking country list)
V. 6 credits for English related courses, such as technical English, writing, listening, speaking and reading, with grades of 70 (or above) or grade point B-. These courses must be recognized by the director of this institute.
(These regulations are adopted in Chinese, which shall prevail in case of any discrepancy between the English translation and the Chinese original.)
