Mobile Cellular Technology Trends from B5G toward 6G – MediaTek’s Vision, and Introduction of MediaTek CSD’s R&R

Abstract: 

Firstly, in the speech, a glance at the wireless communication evolution is presented along with how the standard is delivered. Taking 5G as an example, the standard delivery is composed of four stages, i.e., Requirement, Ecosystem, Implementation and Certification. 6G is currently in the first stage and demands requirements from variety of perspectives. MTK’s vision upon 6G includes simplexity/optimization/convergence as 6G principle, sustainable/intelligent/pervasive/user-centric as 6G design target. Besides, 6G NTN considers higher ability for satellites and smart integration among satellite and terrestrial communication. Following the glance, the role and responsibility (RnR) of MTK CSD is presented, including the partition of modem modules. Biography: 

Dr. Chen於2011夏天畢業於蔡育仁教援實驗室,獲取國立清華大學通訊所博士學位. Dr. Chen的研究領域包含multimedia transmission, multicast/broadcast services, resource optimization, and OFDM systems. 畢業後,隨即加入晨星半導體,並於一年後合併進入聯發科技,期間參與過3G,4G和5G的baseband receiver晶片演算法設計,負責領域包含synchronization, interference cancellation, radio link monitoring and link quality tracking相關演算法開發. Dr. Chen現今仍任職於聯發科技,擔任技術經理,除了研發通訊系統演算法外,也負責帶領小組進行團隊合作,並同時與5G基地台供應商合作以優化實網的配置.
